Albert Einstein

About Me

Hi there! My name is Jackie and my passion has always been Mathematics. Ever since I was in 6th grade, I knew that I wanted to be a high school math teacher. I made extra money in college by tutoring my roommate and friends in math and could not wait to have my own classroom. Imagine my disappointment when I got my first teaching job and the teaching materials I was given were almost as old as my students! I learned quickly to make my own materials for my classes. Teach the students the “why” behind mathematical concepts and it will make sense to them, eliminating the need for students to memorize formulas and rules that they will only retain for a few days at most.

I was also shocked that my school never really embraced technology for mathematics education. Other than offering “benchmark assessments” in the computer lab twice a year, technology was not being used to enhance mathematics whatsoever. Now, I was not the most tech-savvy person on the planet but I knew that technology could enhance education and help keep students engaged, so I started making interactive Google Slides and instructional videos that my students could watch when they had questions. I maintain a YouTube channel where students can go for help, teachers can refer students to, or even leave videos with substitute teachers to show. From there I started learning how to make Google game slides and Jeopardy reviews on PowerPoint and my students were hooked.

My goal is to provide the MOST effective and engaging online math resources that students and teachers alike rave about. I am committed to improving mathematics education one product at a time. I am constantly updating my resources based on recommendations from amazing teachers and colleagues that use these materials.
